Initially employed as Digital Projects Manager, I was promoted to Head of Digital to focus on managing the ongoing digital marketing for our increasing number of retainer clients. In my role as DPM, I managed branding and web design projects from initial specification to completion, working closely with the sales, design and development teams to exceed client’s expectations.

As Head of Digital, I now focus primarily on Kariba’s growing digital marketing service. As our clients are often small to medium sized business with no marketing team, this involves helping business leaders to establish their organisational strengths and weaknesses, the opportunities and challenges in their marketplace, and then planning and delivering a digital strategy within a strict budget. This includes:

  • Using a range of cloud-based software to measure, test and analyse web and digital projects, with particular focus on search engine optimisation and conversion rate optimisation.
  • Manage my and the wider team’s workload in delivering clients’ digital strategies, including design and print, website design and development, copywriting, email marketing, search engine optimisation, online advertising, or social media campaigns.
  • Attending regular strategy meetings with clients, answering questions, keeping reporting dashboards up to date, and reporting on progress as required.
  • Researching and managing Kariba’s marketing technology stack, ensuring software is used effectively and efficiently and that new software is “tried and tested” to ensure the organisation offers a premiere service to clients.
  • Ensuring the profitability of retainer clients and that client’s expectations are met within budgeted hours.
  • Advising and project managing when needed on more complex website builds – particularly those requiring eCommerce integration or more intricate functionality

My most recent successes have come amid the COVID-19 pandemic, which put pressure on businesses of all kinds and required quick-thinking and swift responses from me as an account manager. A local furniture eCommerce client, who only joined us in March has seen a 441% increase in sales over four months and an increase in weekly orders from 8 to over 20. I led the team in achieving this through a combination of technical SEO, optimised PPC and display advertising and targeted social media advertising.

I’m lucky to have a very skilled team behind me, with many years’ creative and technical expertise, and I’m looking forward to seeing this service grow over the next 12 months.
